These samples are processed using the “Nanofat” technique for application in regenerative medicine and aesthetic surgery.
This advancement in Cuban science was made possible through a collaboration between Hermanos Ameijeiras Clinical-Surgical Hospital and the aforementioned Institute. Together, they conducted studies showing the efficacy and safety of this approach in treating facial aging.
Subsequently, further research was designed to provide a high level of evidence regarding its utility in wound healing and tissue repair, the Institute noted in a post on Facebook.
The Institute of Hematology and Immunology explained that the technique involves extracting fat from a part of the patient’s body—typically via liposuction—and then processing that fat to obtain micro-droplets.
These fat micro-droplets are then injected into the facial skin to improve its quality, texture, and appearance.
