Argentine President travels to Spain once again

Buenos Aires, Nov 3 (Prensa Latina) Argentine President Javier Milei is traveling to Spain to attend the 30th Ibero-American Summit, though he has no official bilateral agenda.

Accompanied by his sister, Karina Milei, Secretary-General of the Presidency, and Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno, Milei departs for the country he visited just 10 days ago.

He has visited Spain seven times over the last three years, though he never met with the President of the Spanish Government or visited the Royal Household.

The Summit will bring together 22 presidents from Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking nations, who will develop several multilateral and, in some cases, bilateral activities.

The far-right president is heading to Spain, where he will meet his counterpart, Pedro Sanchez, at the Ibero-American forum, with whom he had a fierce confrontation just 10 days ago, after labeling him “corrupt,” a “criminal,” and a “dictator.”

Given that this is a formal event involving heads of State, the meeting between the Argentine and Spanish presidents is inevitable and bound to be awkward.

Nevertheless, Argentine media outlets note that, for Milei, things could have been even worse.

The slogan of this Summit’s edition is: “Ibero-America: Together we build our Community. Together we project it into the future and into the world.”

The event aims to establish a common agenda for public policies regarding care services and academic mobility.

Participants will also discuss, among other issues, how to best use Artificial Intelligence (AI).
