The executive, who gave an interview Wednesday to the TASS news agency, specified that the idea was hatched during the Aero India 2025 international aerospace exhibition, which began this week in India.
“Of course, we are ready for it, our Indian partners can always come back to this project,” Babich said when considering the possibility of producing the military aircraft in cooperation with Indian aerospace company Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
The new Russian fifth-generation Su-57E multirole fighter made its maiden flight at the Aero India 2025 exhibition. The aircraft piloted by Sergey Bogdan was in the sky for about 10 minutes.
The Su-57 is the only fifth-generation fighter in the world that has demonstrated in real combat conditions its effectiveness against Western air defense systems.
The aircraft is capable of using a wide range of high-precision guided weapons and is difficult for enemy radars to detect.
