During the special ceremony, the minister recalled the historic ties of cooperation between the two nations, as evidenced by the 14 young people who received accreditation to study in Cuba.
During the ceremony, Arlene Blake-McCain and Neville Graham, Cuban medical graduates, shared their experiences and highlighted Cuba’s efforts to train foreign professionals free of charge.
Joel Jevohni Amos, on behalf of the scholarship recipients, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and promised to give back to his community with the knowledge he has acquired.
Cuban Ambassador Fermín Quiñones Sánchez highlighted the island’s spirit of solidarity, despite the US economic blockade, and announced that the scholarships awarded by the Cuban government this time include Medicine, Health Technologies, Veterinary Medicine, Accounting, and a postgraduate degree in Ophthalmology, all of which reflect the continued bilateral collaboration in education.
