The event seeks to position the Greater Caribbean as a key player in global governance and in building a more balanced multipolar order in a challenging and changing geopolitical context.
The High-Level Session will examine the role of the Global South and the region’s potential to strengthen South-South cooperation, diversify its economies, boost regional trade, reduce inequalities, and expand access to development financing. It will also enhance strategic alliances, raise the profile of the Caribbean, and chart paths toward greater economic, political, and social autonomy.
The economic integration, regional connectivity, inclusive digital transformation, climate justice, the protection of the Caribbean Sea, and the blue economy, are among the topics to be discussed.
During the day, the dignitaries attending the event are expected to approve the Colombia Declaration, in the context of the recommendations made by the 30th Ordinary Meeting of the Council of Ministers, held the day before in Cartagena.
