The trains, manufactured in China, received safety and operating authorization from the Directorate General of Railways of the Indonesian Ministry of Transport less than two weeks after their arrival.
According to the director of the state-owned company, Asdo Artriviyanto, “the deployment of these new trains responds to public demand for optimized services on the Greater Jakarta commuter line.”
At a press conference, he explained that the trains are equipped with the latest Control Monitoring System, designed to improve safety and operational efficiency.
The trains are designed with four doors on each side for faster boarding and exiting, include dedicated wheelchair spaces at each end, and a 250 to 300 passengers capacity.
