Local sources, quoted by the official Wafa news agency, denounced that “Israeli occupation forces fired live ammunition directly from their vehicles and drones.”
The systematic attacks in the area turned aid distribution centers into mass killing traps, they said.
The news outlet noted that warplanes also bombed eastern areas of the neighboring city of Khan Yunis.
Wafa reported the death this morning of Dr. Hamdi Al-Najjar, who was wounded in a recent Israeli raid that killed nine of his 10 children, ranging in age from two to 12.
Also, he added, artillery fired at Mount Al-Sourani, east of Gaza City.
According to official data, since the beginning of the current phase of the conflict, in October 2023, more than 178,000 Palestinians have been killed or wounded in Gaza, in addition to some 11,000 missing under the rubble.
The humanitarian crisis there worsened since the beginning of March, when Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu imposed a total blockade against the territory, although in recent days he was forced to allow the entry of aid in the face of strong international pressure.
