The announcement was made by Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Junior at a joint press conference.
Regarding renewable energy, both countries agreed to deepen bilateral and regional cooperation and speed up efforts to make come true the electricity grid of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
This is a plan designed to connect the electricity grids of the group’s 10 member countries to enable cross-border energy trade by 2045.
On the sustainability front, work continues to finalize a legally binding implementation agreement for the cross-border transfer of carbon credits.
Both leaders reported that their respective health ministries are exploring ways to deepen cooperation in the sector, including skills enhancement and the reintegration of returning Filipinos into the healthcare system.
