Both leaders affirmed that Vietnam and Costa Rica have great potential for cooperation in the field of the marine economy, including ocean protection, sustainable development, and the protection of the marine environment.
During a meeting held Sunday on the sidelines of the Blue Economy and Finance Forum held in the Principality of Monaco, Chaves highly valued the potential for collaboration between the two countries, affirmed that there is still a wide room for further development. He also showed particular interest in the Vietnamese tourism sector, and praised the fact that Vietnam welcomed nearly 20 million international visitors last year.
As for Minh Chinh, Vietnam attaches importance to friendship and multifaceted collaboration with Costa Rica, one of its main partners in the Central American and Caribbean region. He also suggested that both nations continue to enhance political trust through exchanges of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones, and political consultations, and promote bilateral trade, cultural exchanges, and people-to-people connections.
The Prime Minister thanked Costa Rica for recognizing Vietnam as a market economy, expressed confidence that bilateral economic and trade cooperation would continue to develop, and invited Costa Rica to send a high-level delegation to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime, to be held in Hanoi next October. He also extended an invitation to President Rodrigo Chaves to visit Vietnam in the near future.
