At the closing ceremony of the 10th Plenary Session of the PCC Central Committee, Diaz-Canel underscored the essential need to make the content of the government’s strategy, its objectives, and actions more widely known so that they can be implemented in the context of each production and service center.
The president also mentioned confronting the negative trends present in society and strengthening unity and political-ideological work as key issues for the PCC, Granma newspaper stated.
Regarding the economic sphere, the head of State specified that the leading task is to raise the production of goods and services, increase foreign exchange earnings, attract foreign investment, make efficient use of finances, and continue working on the program to stabilize the national power grid.
He also referred to the international situation, which he described as “particularly dangerous” due to the events taking place and the complicity of large transnational media companies in disinformation.
In this context, Diaz-Canel highlighted the Party’s work to better inform, educate, and guide the people in a convincing, fair, and creative manner.
He also remembered at multiple points in his speech the thoughts and legacy of the National Hero, Jose Marti, as well as the leaders of the Revolution, Fidel Castro and Raul Castro, whose relevance, he affirmed, is more necessary than ever in the face of the challenging situation the country is experiencing.
