Since its independence, he specified, Moroni, the capital of Comoros, has played a fundamental role in advancing peace, sustainable development, and regional integration.
He underscored, “Upon commemorating this milestone, the African Union reaffirms its strong commitment to supporting Comoros in seizing the opportunities for economic growth, social progress, and lasting stability.”
He also welcomed that nation’s dedication to strengthening democracy, empowering its youth, and deepening solidarity with other African states.
Comoros National Day is observed on July 6 each year, the date on which the country gained independence from France in 1975. The presidential address and celebrations honoring its culture, such as dance, food, and traditional music, mark the day.
