Prensa Latina learnt that the institution marked the information that circulated in social networks and digital platforms as “false and decontextualized”, and assured that no rise has been authorized this year.
“The information circulated about the ‘probable’ increase in prices of communications services is false. The content shared makes improper use of press clippings published in 2024, with the intention of misleading public opinion,” Inacom explained.
The entity stressed that the purpose of this type of news is to “misinform, manipulate the population and generate instability in the public perception of the management of the communications sector”, and reaffirmed that to date no decision has been taken that implies raising the current values.
“We will continue to closely monitor the evolution of the market and defend the interests of consumers, in strict compliance with the public interest, transparency and legality,” maintained Inacom, which urged citizens to consult only official sources and avoid sharing unverified information.
