According to the Informe Pastran bulletin, this figure is distributed across various species, including 13,554 cattle; 2,967 pigs; 1,060 horses; 1,498 dogs; 20 birds; 334 sheep; 10 goats; and 26 cases in wildlife.
The source stated that epidemiological surveillance remains active in the departments of Rio San Juan, Rivas, Carazo, Masaya, Chontales, Boaco, Managua, Granada, Matagalpa, RACS, RACCN, León, Chinandega, Jinotega, Esteli, Nueva Segovia, and Madriz, as well as in the focal areas and their surrounding areas.
The source added that the department of Rio San Juan leads the list with the highest number of reported cases, reaching 3,221, due to its proximity to the border with Costa Rica.
It is followed by the South Caribbean coast region with 2,737 cases, and Rivas with 2,256.
Managua, the capital, reports a significant number of 1,714 cases in animals.
According to reports, other departments with a considerable number of cases include Jinotega (1,279), Chontales (1,569), the North Caribbean (1,249), and Boaco (1,090).
