OEI executives, Cuban authorities, strategic partners, representatives of international cooperation, and the media met on Thursday at the Iberostar Selection La Habana Hotel to analyze advances in science, education, and culture.
One of the most relevant projects was knowledge management in public policies in science, technology, and innovation, which enabled training 120 professionals through national workshops sponsored by the Higher Education Ministry (MES) and the OEI.
The publication of the book “Science and Innovation: Social Processes for Sustainable Development,” which analyzes the challenges of the Cuban scientific system, was also announced.
Beatriz Aragon, a project coordinator for the University of Computer Sciences (UCI), and Maria Victoria Villavicencio, Director of International Relations at the MES, presented the book.
The Office organized, in the cultural sphere, the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) Forum-Workshop, which brought together 200 artists, researchers, and entrepreneurs. This event generated the first CCI Catalog in Cuba and the graphic brand of the CCI Directorate at the Ministry of Culture (MINCULT).
Since its inauguration in November 2022, the OEI’s Cuban Office has implemented 12 flagship projects in collaboration with 15 national institutions under the motto: “We make cooperation happen”.
