Lavrov told reporters, “We are moving toward expanding our cooperation in the regions of our countries. Air transport among Moscow, Khabarovsk, and Pyongyang has been restored. Sea transport is also planned to resume.”
The Russian foreign minister emphasized that these actions will develop contacts between the two countries.
The second round of strategic dialogue between Russia and the DPRK is being held in the coastal city of Wonsan this Saturday.
Both countries signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty on June 19, 2024, during Russian President Vladimir Putin’s official visit to Pyongyang.
The new document is open-ended and replaces a bilateral agreement on friendship, good neighborliness, and cooperation from 2000.
