Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) member Nelly Arista provided information on the second national simulation of rapid counting technology as part of the technical and logistical preparations for the August 17 general elections.
Arista stated that “this system works with real data from the electoral records, not with projections or surveys.”
It also publishes images of the records so that any citizen can verify them.”
She clarified that SIREPRE does not replace the official count, but rather complements it with a quick and verifiable preliminary projection, as it aims to offer greater transparency, reduce speculation, and combat misinformation.
The TSE informed that the simulation was conducted this Sunday in 876 out of 5,727 polling stations and 506 out of 34,026 voting centers, with an estimated participation of 6,309,374 eligible voters (out of a projected voter registration of 7,567,207).
