Hamdan told Qatari television station Al Jazeera that this situation leads to the spread of diseases and increased malnutrition, especially among children.
The UNRWA media director also warned on the collapse of the health and service infrastructure in the coastal enclave, home to more than two million people.
He noted that most displaced live in tents or overcrowded shelters, where the problem of water shortages is significantly exacerbated.
The official explained that 90 percent of the water facilities in the Strip are located in hard-to-reach areas, complicating the supply process and increasing people’s suffering.
Hamdan stated that the crisis is worsening every day due to the increase in Israeli airstrikes, the destruction of infrastructure, and the blockade imposed by that country.
