So reveals a RealTime BigData Institute survey, conducted between August 4 and 6, with 1,500 interviews throughout the country.
According to the research, 64 percent of those consulted support a direct initiative between Lula and Trump.
Another 28 percent oppose the idea, while eight percent prefer not to comment.
The survey also points out dissatisfaction with the Brazilian government’s actions regarding the increase in tariffs.
For 52 percent of respondents, the current position is wrong and the Presidential Palace should strengthen the dialogue with the Americans.
Only 27 percent consider Lula’s resistance strategy to be adequate. The rest (21 percent) did not know how to respond.
Taxes are a concern mainly because of their impact on the labor market. Almost half (47 percent) fear a rise in unemployment.
There is also concern about the cost of living (17 percent) and the possible international isolation of Brazil (eight).
