The Palestinian presidency stated that such comments are unacceptable and are a provocation and an escalation that affects regional stability, and criticized Israel’s “expansionist colonial policy” and its refusal to respect state sovereignty and international agreements.
In this regard, it reiterated the right of the Palestinian people to have their independent and sovereign state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital; the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a similar statement.
Netanyahu’s statements constitute an official acknowledgment of the occupation government’s intentions and objectives to wipe out the Palestinian cause and annex both Gaza Strip and the West Bank, they stressed.
The Foreign Ministry accused Tel Aviv of committing crimes of genocide and displacing the population of Gaza.
For his part, Palestinian National Council President Rawhi Fattouh stated that such comments “embody the mentality of colonialist Judaization, supported by American protection.”
Fattouh urged the international community to take immediate action to stop “this madness of extremism and fascism,” meanwhile Palestinian parties, including Fatah and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, decried the Israeli prime minister’s remarks on the matter.
