In an official statement, the Syrian Foreign Ministry denounced that a drone attack carried out by Israel caused the death of young Rami Ahmed Ghanem, following a direct bombing of his home in the town of Taranja, located in the north of Quneitra province, in the southwest of the country.
The Ministry also condemned an Israeli armed incursion into the town of Swaysa, in the same governorate, where the occupation forces carried out arbitrary arrests of civilians and acts of intimidation against the population, in flagrant violation of international norms.
The statement asserted that the continued Israeli military presence on Mount Hermon and in the buffer zone constitutes a direct threat to regional stability and a violation of Syrian sovereignty, in clear contradiction with the United Nations Charter and Security Council resolutions.
In this context, it renewed its call on international organizations, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume their legal and moral responsibility and immediately halt the hostile practices of the occupation regime.
Finally, the Foreign Ministry reaffirmed the legitimate and inalienable right of the people and State of Syria to defend their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the security of their citizens by all means recognized by international law.
