Venezuela intensifies offensive against drug trafficking

Caracas, Aug 28 (Prensa Latina) The Bolivarian National Armed Forces of Venezuela seized 2,800 kilograms of illicit substances in the state of Amazonas, following an operation that proves the fight against drug trafficking gangs in the South American country.

Minister of the Interior, Justice, and Peace Diosdado Cabello stated that, as part of the efforts to guarantee peace and national sovereignty, two individuals were also captured in Falcon state transporting 47.35 kilograms of marijuana and 3.25 kilograms of cocaine.

At the same time, six logistics camps were dismantled in Delta Amacuro state.

These camps, used to repair wooden and fiberglass boats and linked to Colombian drug trafficking networks, were used to repair wooden and fiberglass boats, according to statements by the strategic operational commander, General Domingo Hernandez Larez.

At the end of the operation, five Colombian nationals were arrested. They were specialists in the construction of fiberglass submarines used to transport drugs by river.
