Gas, water, electricity, schools, healthcare, rent, and transportation all increase starting today, placing a greater burden on the finances of Argentine families already burdened by continuous increases.
Along with services, the price of transportation fares in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area, state-subsidized private schools, private health clinics, and medications, among other items, will also increase.
Gas, for example, will add another 6,8% to your bill, and the Argentine Water and Sanitation Service (AySA) is adjusting its rates monthly and announced a 1% increase on the August bill.
Rents still governed by a 2020 law saw a no less than 50,3% increase in September compared to August, according to the annual Rental Contract Index update, while private healthcare providers will implement moderate increases of 1,68 to 1,9%.
These increases are in addition to the sequence of adjustments that prepaid clinics have been making month after month since the beginning of the year, so the cumulative increase has already exceeded 20% so far this year.
As for fuels, the newspaper Ámbito Financiero warns, if the government decides to move forward with updating all taxes that were postponed during 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, the price of gasoline and diesel could immediately jump above 15%.
