The Bosnian Serb authority made these statements after a meeting with Hungarian Chancellor Peter Szijjarto in Budapest.
Dodik demanded the cessation of interference and the departure of the international high representative, Christian Schmidt, whom he described as illegitimate.
We demand dialogue. Remove Schmidt, close his office and end up his illegal inheritance, he affirmed on the social network X.
He pointed out that the European Union must act in a European way for a real conversation to be possible.
Therefore, he warned that any new attempt of imposition would lead to a proclamation of independence by Republika Srpska; and we are firmly determined to take that step, the Bosnian Serb leader asserted.
Analysts interpret this warning as a response to growing international pressure and sanctions on the Balkan country, where the political crisis is worsening after the recent decisions of the nation’s central electoral commission that affect the legitimate authorities of the entity.
