Jamaludin told Prensa Latina that both nations celebrated, on February 6 of this year, the 50th anniversary of establishing relations at the highest political level.
The diplomat also highlighted the close ties with the Cuba-Malaysia Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National People’s Power Assembly.
The Malaysian ambassador emphasized that the governments of both countries are working to achieve the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He pointed out that Malaysia is exploring investment opportunities in sectors such as biopharmaceuticals, commodities, and the digital economy.
The dilplomat also expressed mutual interest in developing projects related to renewable energy
Under the chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2025, Malaysia organized a meeting in Havana on Thursday to discuss the prospects for joint business with Cuba.
