The performance by the Brazilian singers will take place this afternoon at the Theater of the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA). The cultural institution welcomes guests from Chile, Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Spain, Mexico, and the host country this morning.
Concerts, performances, thought events, and exhibitions are on the event’s agenda, dedicated to honoring its late founder and prominent Cuban troubadour Vicente Feliu, who would be celebrating his 78th birthday on November 11.
The program includes the exhibition “Canto de Todos 25 años,” the premiere and screening of the audiovisual “Picture of Vicente Feliu,” the handing over of the Noel Nicola Award, the tribute exhibition for the 50th anniversary of the Nueva Trova Movement, a visit to La Timba neighborhood, and a march to Vicente Feliu’s tomb, among many other initiatives.
The organizers informed at a recent press briefing that several institutions, including the ALBA Culture Center, Casa de las Americas, the Jose Marti Public Library, and the Theater of the MNBA, will hold activities in this event.
That Ibero-American Song Encounter, organized and directed in 2000 by Vicente Feliú, made history as Canto de Todos.
