In his speech at the Arab-Islamic summit held in Doha, the Turkish leader denounced the recent Israeli attack against Qatar, describing it as an action that shows a higher level of aggression.
The urgently convened meeting brought together representatives from 57 countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to coordinate a regional response to recent events and reaffirm support for Qatar and the Palestinian cause.
Erdogan emphasized that Turkiye remains in full solidarity with Qatar, which he described as a “friend, brother, and ally,” and stated that the attack against Hamas should be understood as a provocation not only against the host country, but against the region as a whole. Therefore, he emphasized that the Islamic world should view this summit as a clear demonstration of support for Qatar and Palestine in the face of Israeli aggression.
Referring to Tel Aviv government, the Turkish president denounced that “the world is facing a terrorist mentality that thrives on chaos and bloodshed, embodied in a state,” and accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of promoting policies that could lead to massacres and a new cycle of regional instability.
In his speech, Erdogan emphasized that the Islamic world has the resources, wisdom, and strategic capacity necessary to counter Israel’s expansionist ambitions, and advocated for the application of coordinated economic pressure as part of an effective response.
He also reiterated that Ankara will maintain its firm stance until the creation of an independent Palestinian state, with the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.
