The spokesman referred to Trump’s remarks the day before, when he said that Kyiv could militarily recover all of its territories and reach the 2022 borders, or even further.
“The situation is different now. Ukraine’s position is much worse. I repeat, it will only continue to worsen,” Peskov told reporters.
The fact that they are trying by every means to encourage Ukraine to continue military operations and the idea that Ukraine can regain something is, in our opinion, a mistake, the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.
Trump previously published a post “about self-elimination,” in which he claimed that the Russian economy was already collapsing and that the military situation was such that Ukraine, with the support of the European Union, would supposedly reach the 1991 borders, “and perhaps even further.”
