The Cuban stand will be a meeting point for lovers of the rich and diverse Caribbean culture, ranging from literature and dance to fashion, film, and gastronomy, the Cuban Embassy announced, and added that a selection of books on Cuba translated into Vietnamese language will be launched there.
Attendees could also enjoy a gastronomic exhibition featuring some of the typical dishes that characterize Cuban cuisine, during Cuba’s participation which reaffirms the ties of friendship between both countries.
The island’s presence will also be evident in the “The Path of Cultures” space, designed for photo exhibitions from different regions of the world. This space will feature works by renowned photographer Alejandro Azcuy, capturing the essence of daily life, architecture, and the soul of the Cuban people.
A self-taught and award-winning photographer with over 20 years of professional experience, Azcuy has exhibited his work in 16 solo exhibitions and more than 30 group exhibitions in the United States, Germany, Bolivia, Portugal, Chile, Mexico, and Cuba.
He is the author of the book “Noble Habana,” published on the 500th anniversary of the Cuban capital.
As part of the international parade of traditional costumes, Cuba will participate in its emblematic guayaberas, a traditional Cuban garment of elegance and national identity, specially sent for the occasion by the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets.
The documentaries “ParAlicia,” directed by Cuban filmmaker Alejandro Perez, and “La Habana Elegante,” by Cuban movie director Rolando Almirante, will be screened during this festival.
