Cuba reaffirms support for Venezuela in the DR before US threats

Santo Domingo, Sept 30 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban State Mission in the Dominican Republic reaffirmed its support for Venezuela in the face of US threats by signing the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government in Solidarity with the Bolivarian Revolution.

In a ceremony held at the Cuban embassy in Santo Domingo, diplomats and collaborators from the island signed the document, which warns of the urgency of preventing military aggression against Venezuela, amid growing hostility from Washington.

Cuban Ambassador Angel Arzuaga reiterated his country’s unwavering support for the South American nation and highlighted the signature campaign that is being carried out simultaneously in Cuba and at its missions abroad.

The meeting concluded with chants in support of the Bolivarian Revolution, its constitutional president, Nicolas Maduro, and the peoples of Cuba and Venezuela.

The Declaration notes that Cuba has repeatedly warned that the recent US military deployment in the Caribbean Sea constitutes a provocation intended to unleash a military conflict that would force Hugo Chavez’s homeland to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

“A direct military attack against Venezuela would have incalculable consequences for the peace, stability, and security of Our America,” the text emphasizes, which also urges the international community to mobilize to halt any escalation and preserve Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, proclaimed by its heads of state and government.
