Fernando Luis Rojas, coordinator of the Caribbean nation’s chapter, highlighted, during the meeting last night, the importance of solidarity, building bridges, and working together in the context of a complex global scenario.
Those attending from the United States also expressed their willingness to coordinate activities, while advocating for a greater level of communication between both chapters, attracting more young people, and expanding beyond Mexico City.
They agreed on the importance of holding events in the framework of the 100th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, in 2026, as well as proposing ways to counter the campaigns against the Caribbean nation.
They also reaffirmed their support for other causes, such as the defense of Venezuela and support for the Palestinian people.
Fernando Gonzalez, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), who is visiting this nation to participate in the 9th Continental Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba that concluded a few days ago, greeted the participants in the meeting.
The ICAP president emphasized the importance of connecting intellectuals and artists, and humanist and progressive ideas make ways to confront conservative, right-wing, and even fascist thinking.
