At the mid-term ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held in Uganda on Wednesday, Kirti Vardhan Singh, Minister of State for External Affairs and Environment, Forests and Climate Change, reaffirmed his support for a sovereign, independent, and viable State of Palestine, living side by side in peace and security with Israel, within secure and recognized borders.
Our ultimate goal remains a negotiated two-state solution, which is the only path to achieving lasting peace and general prosperity, Vardhan Singh said.
He called for an end to the destruction, despair, and suffering of civilians; unhindered access to Gaza for food, fuel, and other essential items; the release of the hostages; and an immediate ceasefire.
The Indian diplomat condemned terrorism in all its forms and reaffirmed his support for dialogue and diplomacy as the best means to achieve those goals.
Vardhan Singh praised the agreement on the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan and expressed gratitude to the leadership of two NAM members, Egypt and Qatar, for their decisive role in achieving the agreement.
