BNC welcomes November with attractive performances

Havana, Nov 1 (Prensa Latina) Cuba's National Ballet Company (BNC) continues its season by performing three shows this weekend at Teatro Nacional de Cuba's Avellaneda Hall in Havana.

The program includes the Cuban premiere of “Espejo del Mundo” (Mirror of the World), a collaboration with Australian choreographer David Jonathan; the full version of “A Fuego Lento” (Slow Burn) by Brazilian choreographer Ricardo Amarante; and the restage of “Ballet 101” by Eric Gauthier.

The company opened on Friday the series of performances, which will continue during this and next weekend.

On November 7, 8, and 9, the company will perform the pieces “Love Fear Loss,” another renowned piece by Ricardo Amarante, “Sinfonia Para Nueve Hombres” (Symphony for Nine Men) by James Kelly, and “Ballet 101.”

After these performances, the company will resume its postponed performance in the Dominican Republic, scheduled for November 28 at Eduardo Brito National Theater in Santo Domingo.

The Cuban National Ballet is one of the most prestigious companies in the world. Founded by Fernando and Alicia Alonso and currently directed by 2025 National Dance Prize winner Viengsay Valdes, the ballet group celebrated its 77th anniversary on October 28.
