In the presence of the Cuban medical brigade professionals and solidary friends, Cuban Ambassador to Guatemala, Nazario Fernandez, acknowledged the creative force of a people who, through art and thought, defend their sovereignty and affirm their essence on the planet.

Fernandez also paid tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, within the framework of the events commemorating his 100th birthday and the 10th anniversary of his death, to be commemorated in 2026.

The diplomat stated, “There is no moment or space in the contemporary political, social, and economic life of Cuba in which his indelible mark as creator of the purest values in human beings is not present.” The Cuban ambassador underscored, “Mijain Lopez is one of those admirable winners who make us eel proud of, and indeed all of Latin America and the Caribbean.”
