The organization condemned in a statement the killings, beatings, arrests, and several violations committed against Palestinian journalists, particularly in Gaza Strip.

The institution also criticized the Palestinian Authority’s refusal to allow international press access to Gaza following the implementation of a ceasefire on October 10.

It underscored that such actions are a flagrant violation of international law, including the rights to freedom of speech and access to information.

The Council questioned the world’s silence on the issue, arguing that it “grants political and judicial immunity to the occupying state.”

Therefore, the PNC called for immediate measures to halt these violations, protect journalists and other Palestinian civilians, and work to prosecute and hold accountable those involved in these crimes.
