This meeting was convened by the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace amid the systematic military threat posed by the United States against the Bolivarian Republic over the last four months.
Jurists from more than 20 countries across five continents are participating.
Jorge Rodriguez, President of the National Assembly (Parliament), called on the delegates, at the opening of the meeting to “support our denunciation and truth.”
“Help us maintain that freedom and that peace,” Rodriguez underscored, and reaffirmed that Venezuela is a country of peace, but also of freedom.
The lawmaker explained that one of the objectives of the meeting is to share opinions and reflections and seek a unified voice to defend the law, which “is a way of defending sovereignty and peace.”
The head of Parliament denounced not only the lethal US military power in the Caribbean region, but also its control over the media and social media, with which they have set up virtual realities “completely different from the truth and daily lives of 30 million Venezuelans.”
