Representatives of labor unions, cultural organizations, and solidarity movements also expressed their rejection of the warmongering threats and the naval deployment that the United States maintains in the Caribbean Sea, with a focus on Venezuela.
With banners that read “No to war, Yes to peace,” “Venezuela is hope,” “Latin America and the Caribbean is a region of peace,” and “Yankees out of the Caribbean,” participants distributed leaflets with messages alluding to the mobilization, while waving flags of both countries.
In a joint statement, they reaffirmed that the Caribbean is a Zone of Peace and demanded respect for the self-determination of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The Dominican people were invited to participate in upcoming activities during the Week of Solidarity Against War, including the delivery of a document “for peace and respect for sovereignty” to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 22nd.
Members of Patria para Todos, the Communist Party of Labor, the Caamanista Movement, Fuerza de la Revolución, the Committee of Solidarity with Venezuela, Agenda Solidaridad, the Dominican Campaign of Solidarity with Cuba, and other organizations participated in the mobilization.
