The Russian diplomat stated, “First of all, the understanding is based on a break of more than 100 days, a pause that Ukraine took after the third round of negotiations in Istanbul.”
Miroshnik added that after that, there was an official statement from the spokespeople of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry that they were withdrawing from this process, but they did not take any official action through diplomatic channels.
The official noted that Ukraine received all documents provided by the Russian side.
“That is to say, the draft memorandum, the corresponding proposals that could and should have been the basis for further discussion.
But he did not provide any reaction,” he emphasized.
The Times newspaper earlier issued an article about an interview with Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Kislitsa, over the official suspension of negotiations between Kiev and Moscow, and Ukrainian media outlets cited the deputy minister as saying the same thing.
