Cuban Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Carlos Valdes, commented that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC), which has been underway since November 17 in Baku.
During the meeting, Febles and Bogdan-Martin highlighted the positive state of relations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening cooperation.
The ITU secretary-general was also interested in learning about Cuba’s progress in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and highlighted th country’s support and active participation as a member state of the Union, Valdes told Prensa Latina.
The current meeting is organized by the ITU and hosted by the government of Azerbaijan. It aims at definong regional priorities and initiatives for the next four years for the Union’s Telecommunication Development Sector.
As part of her working agenda, Febles previously met with ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) Director, Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, to express her country’s willingness to continue strengthening collaboration with the organization.
