Argentine Justicialist Party defines strategy vs Milei’s reforms

Buenos Aires, Nov 19 (Prensa Latina) The Justicialist Party (PJ), still presided over by Cristina Fernandez, has begun a series of meetings to define its strategy in response to the reforms proposed by the government of President Javier Milei.

The first meeting took place at the PJ headquarters, and the party leadership is now meeting with the bloc of senators led by Jose Mayans.

Party councilors and PJ vice presidents, along with other guests, attended Tuesday evening’s meeting to discuss the steps to take in the dispute with the ruling party in Congress.

National Lawmaker Maximo Kirchner, secretary of the PJ in the Buenos Aires Province, was also invited to participate and contributed to the deliberations, offering his perspective on what the political organization should do going forward.

After thanking the party for its support of Cristina Fernandez and the demand for her release, Kirchner assessed the current situation in Argentina, noting that in the last 10 years, the country got into more debt, and, on the contrary, there are fewer roads, schools, and hospitals.

Following the setback in the October 26 legislative elections, Peronism now faces significant risks due to the fragmentation and disunity of its forces.
