The head of the Vietnamese Government made this remark during a meeting on Tuesday, shortly after he arrived in the capital, with officials from the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese residents in the country.
Minh Chinh expects that during the visit, both sides will agree to elevate ties to a new level and promote trade connections and people-to-people exchanges, as well as boost economic cooperation, especially in the agricultural sector, in line with the already strong political and diplomatic relations.
In more than 60 years of diplomatic relations, “both countries have always stood together in complex times, and the traditional friendship has been steadily consolidated and developed in several areas.
These are invaluable assets of the Vietnamese-Algerian relationship,” he underscored.
The Vietnamese prime minister recalled that the historic victory at Dien Bien Phu was a great source of inspiration for the Algerian people’s struggle, which immediately afterward took up arms to fight for national independence.
This is the first visit by a Vietnamese head of Government to Algeria in the last ten years and comes at a time of increased bilateral trade and growing opportunities for investment and cooperation in oil and gas.
