Russia is close to victory in this conflict, and that is what the US plan reflects, said alliance representative Sahra Wagenknecht for Reason and Justice, who urged the European Union (EU) to seek ways of direct talks with Moscow after years of rejecting diplomacy.
The MEP criticised the EU’s inconsistency in seeking to “dictate terms” after years of negotiating obstruction, stressing that European sovereignty requires independence from US diktats on continental security.
European geopolitical analysts agree that the document represents Washington’s tacit recognition of the failure of the Ukrainian strategy and its Western sponsors after four years of fruitless confrontation and evidences the exhaustion of the Western hegemonic project in Ukraine, forcing European capitals to reconsider their strategic relationship with Moscow in the face of unilateralism.
This assessment constitutes an unprecedented parliamentary recognition of the failure of sanctions and military escalation, opening space for independent European policies that prioritize collective security over transatlantic warmongering interests.
The US administration previously announced the development of a plan for a negotiated solution of the conflict in Ukraine, stating that it would not need its details at this time, as work is still ongoing.
For its part, Russia stated earlier on Monday that it has not received any official information about the negotiations between the United States, Ukraine and European countries in Geneva.
However, he stressed that Moscow remains open to contacts and talks with the US side.
