Tshisekedi addressed the issue while participating in the debate on Peace, Security, Governance, and Multilateralism, and stated that the meeting was a crucial moment to recognize what needs to be corrected, rethought, or rebuilt, the Congolese Presidency referred.
The president underscored that if we want to talk about prosperity, mobility, trade, and investment, we must first confront the current peace and security problems, which have become “critical emergencies,” as is the case in the DRC.
He considered that multilateralism demands the same respect for international regulations, cooperation based on transparency, and genuine solidarity that does not allow anyone to fend for themselves when their fundamental rights are violated.
Tshisekedi stated, “As long as entire populations remain exposed to massacres, sexual violence, forced displacement, and persistent insecurity, we cannot calmly speak of prosperity or controlled human mobility.
No economic agenda, no migration project can be sustainable if it ignores human tragedies.”
The DRC president expressed his hope that this AU-EU Summit will lead to real action, demonstrating the maturity of relations between the two blocs after 25 years and placing peace, human dignity, and shared prosperity at the heart of their common projects.
