Conceived as a tribute to the city of Havana on its 500th anniversary, the 90-minute film is an urban comedy of interwoven stories that attempts to capture contemporary life in the Cuban capital from multiple perspectives.

“Habana Selfies” will be screened at the Pilar Aguirre Hall of the National Cinemateque, where movie buffs can also enjoy the movie “Bailando con Margot” (Dancing with Margot, 2015), also directed by Santana.

Set in Havana in 1958, “Bailando con Margot” follows the story of Margot Fuentes, an elegant widow living amidst rumors and secrets.

As part of the program, movie lovers in this nation can also enjoy the film “Cinco Historias de Amor y un Boleron Desesperado” (Five Love Stories and A Desperate Bolero, 2024).

Santana’s 90-minute film was produced by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), I4Films, and Talentos Arte Audiovisual.

As part of the program, Santana, who is also a prominent Cuban screenwriter, will give a keynote address on Saturday entitled “Contemporary Cinema and Its New Challenge in the Region.”
