“The situation in Ukraine is very difficult. What consequences it will have is obvious: they will be extremely negative. But exactly which ones, I don’t think anyone can predict right now,” Peskov said in an interview with the Rossiya 1 television channel.
Commenting on reports about the searches at the residence of the head of Ukraine’s presidential office, Andriy Yermak, Peskov noted that the corruption scandal is “shaking the political system of that country from all sides.
The NABU confirmed that searches were carried out at Yermak’s residence, clarifying that these procedures are part of an ongoing investigation.
According to the Financial Times newspaper, these searches are related to the investigation of the corruption case in the energy sector.
Shortly afterward, Yermak himself submitted his resignation, which was accepted by President Volodymyr Zelensky, thus joining other officials in the president’s circle who either resigned or were dismissed, such as Justice Minister German Galushchenko and Energy Minister Svetlana Grinchuk.
