This working group will conduct a “rigorous and in-depth” investigation, in which the Attorney General’s Office will participate, and whose results will be presented to all international organizations, the president of the Venezuelan parliament, Jorge Rodriguez, announced yesterday to national and international journalists.
When asked by the press about the number of Venezuelans involved in these events, which began on September 2, the legislator stated that “we are going to determine how many Venezuelans were killed,” in a list that also includes Colombians, Dominicans, and Trinidadians.
He added that a support strategy will be established for the families in the northeastern state of Sucre whose relatives were killed, and they will be provided protection, “since some are being threatened.”
Accompanied by the legislative board, Rodríguez commented on meetings held the previous day with relatives of Venezuelans who were victims of the U.S. attacks and were “extrajudicially killed in illegitimate and illegal actions.”
He stated that the identities of these individuals are being protected because “they have been receiving threats from sectors and individuals” who do not want the truth to come out and the facts to be clarified.

Caracas, 1 dic (Prensa Latina) La Asamblea Nacional (parlamento) de Venezuela realizará hoy una sesión extraordinaria para la creación de una comisión especial que investigue los ataques a pequeñas embarcaciones en el Caribe, que derivaron en asesinatos extrajudiciales.
Cuerpo : Este equipo de trabajo realizará una indagación “rigurosa y profunda”, a la cual se sumará la Fiscalía General y cuyos resultados serán llevados a todos los organismos internacionales, anunció la víspera ante periodistas nacionales e internacionales el presidente del parlamento venezolano, Jorge Rodríguez.
Preguntado por la prensa sobre el número de connacionales involucrados en esos hechos iniciados el pasado 2 de septiembre, el legislador declaró que “vamos determinar cuántos venezolanos fueron asesinados”, en una lista que contiene además colombianos, dominicanos y trinitenses.
Adelantó que establecerán una estrategia de apoyo las familias en el estado de Sucre (nororiente) cuyos descendientes fueron asesinados y se les brindará protección, “ya que algunos están siendo amenazados”.
Acompañado por la Junta Directiva del legislativo, Rodríguez comentó acerca de reuniones sostenidas la víspera con familiares de venezolanos víctimas de los ataques estadounidenses que resultaron “asesinados extrajudicialmente en acciones ilegítimas e ilegales”.
Declaró sobre el resguardo de la identidad de esas personas porque “han venido recibiendo amenazas por sectores y personas” que no quieren se conozca la verdad y diluciden los hechos.
