The event’s program invites visitors to discover the graphic side of the famous character through comics created by Cuban artists who reinterpreted the Sicilian policeman.
Also, at Teatro Sauto in Matanzas province, stands out the concert “A cruda voz” by Lavinia Mancusi and Mauro Menegazzi, a performance that is part of the Creative Zones Project activities in that city.
The 27th Week of Italian Culture in Cuba, which runs until December 6, is marked by Italian literature throughout the centuries, with dedications to some of its most important figures: Giovanni Boccaccio, Eugenio Montale, and Andrea Camilleri, all of whom are celebrating significant anniversaries this year.
The three authors are featured in workshops, original performances, and a competition dedicated to comics, art, and graphic design.
This edition holds special importance for the relationship between the two countries, “as it contributes to strengthening the bonds of friendship and cultural cooperation that have united us for decades,” highlighted the Italian Ambassador to Cuba, Simona De Martino, at a recent press conference.
She added that it is the oldest cultural week of its kind in the Caribbean nation.
“Since then, edition after edition, we have added a new chapter to this long history of friendship, exchange, and collaboration, which today constitutes one of the pillars of the relationship between Italy and Cuba.”
