Reports broadcast by Syria TV stated that the exhumation operation was carried out under strict security measures.
The remains have not yet been identified, but it is presumed they belong to victims of torture or summary executions.
Forensic investigators are working to determine the victims’ identities and reconstruct the circumstances of their deaths.
The discovery adds to others recently found in the same province.
The Syrian Civil Defense, in coordination with the National Commission for Missing Persons, reported in November the presence of human remains in a well in the rural area of Aziza, also in Aleppo.
Since the new authorities restored control in the country’s several areas, residents have reported multiple mass graves that, according to local testimonies, could correspond to victims of rape and crimes committed during the years of armed conflict.
