Jara, the candidate representing the left and progressive parties plus the Christian Democrats (DC), will tour the country’s northern, central, and southern towns and plans to hold campaign closing rallies in the city of Coquimbo and the populous Santiago municipality of Puente Alto.
Meanwhile, far-right candidate Kast will participate in an event in Temuco, the capital of the Araucania region, in addition to continuing his tours nationwide.
The two contenders will face off on Tuesday evening in the final debate organized by the National Television Association of Chile (ANATEL) before Sunday’s runoff.
The debate will last approximately two and a half hours, and the candidates will have to address nine topics that have not yet been revealed.
Kast and Jara spent the weekend in northern regions, where they reiterated their differing proposals for addressing border security and immigration.
More than 15 million Chileans are called to vote again on December 14 to elect the next president between two different visions for the country.
