Following the ceremony, Minh Chinh and Manet held talks in which both agreed on the significance of opening this border crossing to strengthen economic, trade, and interpersonal ties.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to modernizing cross-border transit infrastructure to generate new momentum for regional economic development and stated the need to maintain security and order in the border area, preventing cross-border crime, smuggling, and illegal activities.
The government’s online newspaper noted that they advocated for the prompt signing of the agreements on “Border Crossing Management” and the “Border Management Regulations” to contribute to achieving both countries’ development goals in the new period.
Minh Chinh and Manet also agreed that, over the last year, both governments have effectively implemented the conclusions of the bilateral and trilateral meetings held in February, achieving several substantial results.
Additionally, political and foreign relations have been consolidated and continuously improved, and the bilateral cooperation mechanisms, including the 13th Conference on Cooperation and Development of Border Provinces held on November 27-29, have proven effective.
