Following a meeting of its top leadership, Libre’s presidential candidate in the general elections of November 30 demanded the “total annulment” of the elections and an investigation into the “electoral terrorism” underway.
Moncada alleged manipulation of the preliminary results transmission system (TREP) in a process marred by the paralysis of the vote count since election night, which has kept this Central American country on edge.
Despite the National Electoral Council (CNE) president Ana Hall’s announcement of the “immediate” resumption of the vote count, which had been halted due to “technical problems,” the election results remain officially unupdated.
Minutes after being restored the vote count stalled once again on the CNE website, again due to “technical failures,” a situation that increases uncertainty eight days before the crucial election.
“Libre does not recognize the elections held under the interference and coercion of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, and the allied oligarchy who have attacked the Honduran people with an ongoing electoral coup,” warned Moncada while reading a statement to her supporters.
The presidential candidate for the leftist party denounced the tampering with the TREP system, emphasizing that its source code had been manipulated.
